Now under new ownership of The Works Ramsey Ltd, The original Booth W Kelly Engineers was trading in Ramsey IOM in the forties, by the sixties had become a subsidiary of Ramsey Shipyard under the ownership of Billy Kneale Booth W Kelly until 2003 when a new company was formed. Boasting some of the most up-to-date facilities in the the British Isles it changed its name to The Works Ramsey from April 2009.
The Island developed a significant shipbuilding capacity, with boatyards in Douglas, Peel and Castletown. Ramsey (1832) has been the most consistently successful and productive yard.
